Thursday 28th April – bike *** – Around Felixstowe with lunch at Landguard – sunny start then clouded over.

Nice start to the day, sunny so did my exercises in the back garden then packed a picnic and headed out on our bikes as it clouded over! Down through Langer Park to the viewing point as a huge container ship is just leaving its berth. Onto the jetty to meet up with Mag sitting lower so sheltered from the chilly eastery breeze with the large dredger right in front of us, it is moored up just outside the channel waiting for the container ship to leave. We enjoy our picnic lunch with a warm cuppa as the huge container ship appears behind Mag and slowly makes its way out to sea helped by two tugs. The dredger then moves into the channel to resume digging! Then back through Landguard nature reserve past the caraven site where a big crane is moving caravans and onto the prom. Mag heads up Bent Hill while I carry onto the Ferry, spotting a wheatear on the way. A quick trip around the boat yard before returning home the short way. It was definitely breezy enough to foil, must get some kit sorted soon after breaking mine:(
